Some trees have to go. A tree might be dead, leaning, cracked, crowding the house, or standing right where the new garage is supposed to sit. Whatever the reason, taking down a big tree near a home is not a weekend project. Call Hot Springs Tree Service Co. and we’ll come out, look at it and give you a free quote.
Pines and oaks make up most of the big trees around Hot Springs, so they’re most of what comes down, too. On a tight lot or a steep lake lot, getting one down without hitting the house, the fence or the dock is the whole job.
Tree cutting near a house usually means taking the tree apart from the top down, one section at a time, rather than felling it whole.
Not sure whether your tree needs to come down? Have it looked at. Sometimes a good trim or taking off one heavy limb is all it needs.
If the tree is already down or has fallen on something, go to the emergency page instead, or just call.
Call 501-817-7761 or fill out the form. When you call, it helps to say roughly how tall the tree is and what’s near it.

None of these means the tree has to come down. They do mean it is worth having looked at.
We come out, walk around the tree, check what’s underneath and how equipment can reach it, and give you a price. It’s a good time to say whether you want the stump ground and what you’d like done with the wood.
Where there’s open space, a tree can sometimes be felled in one piece. That’s rare in town. More often a climber goes up, removes the limbs, then cuts the trunk in sections from the top, lowering each one on a rope. Depending on the tree and the access, the work may be done from a lift or with a crane instead.
Brush goes through the chipper and the logs are cut up and loaded, unless you’re keeping the wood. The stump is cut low to the ground, and ground out if stump grinding is part of the job.

You don’t have to cut down a tree just because part of it is in trouble. One dead limb over the driveway, branches rubbing the roof, or a crown that has grown too heavy on one side can often be dealt with by pruning.
Removal is the better answer when the trunk or the roots are the problem: decay at the base, a lean that keeps getting worse, or a tree that has died. It’s also the answer when a healthy tree is simply in the wrong place, such as against a foundation or where you plan to build.
If you can’t tell which you need, that’s normal. Call 501-817-7761 and have the tree looked at.
No two removals cost the same, which is why we look at the tree before giving a price. The quote is free. The price depends on:
If you have more than one tree, mention them all so they can be quoted together.
It depends on the tree. A small tree in an open yard is a much smaller job than a big one that has to be lowered piece by piece over a house. We’ll tell you what to expect when we quote the job.
Yes. Tell us before the work starts so the trunk and big limbs are left for you instead of hauled off.
Some marks on the lawn are normal, especially if the ground is wet. If you’re worried about a particular area, such as a septic field or sprinkler lines, point it out when we come to look at the tree.
